Stratafix Spiral Monocryl Plus Suture, Undyed, Size 3-0, 60 cm, with PS-1 Needle, is a synthetic absorbable suture designed for secure and consistent wound closure. Engineered with a spiral barbed structure, it eliminates the need for knot tying, improving operative efficiency and tension distribution. The spiral barbs facilitate even tissue grip, allowing optimal wound approximation and reliable tissue engagement across the suture line.
The suture is composed of poliglecaprone 25, a monofilament material known for its predictable absorption and minimal tissue response. It maintains tensile strength for 1 to 2 weeks, offering necessary support during the initial healing phase. Full absorption occurs between 90 to 120 days via hydrolysis, ensuring it does not leave permanent foreign material in the body.
The PS-1 needle included with this suture measures 24 mm and features a reverse cutting tip for clean and precise penetration through tough or fibrous tissue. The needle's 3/8 circle curvature supports improved control and access in confined surgical sites.
